How Does This Work?
Under Singapore’s law, high-voltage EV chargers require necessary structual safety checks. The exact frequency of your maintenance depends entirely on whether your charger is located in a Restricted or Non-Restricted Access Zone.
Restricted Access Locations:
- Property Type: Private landed residential properties (Detached, semi-detached, terrace, townhouse)
- Legal Requirement: Mandatory Inspection by a Certified Equipment Specialist once every 24 months (2 years)
Non-Restricted Access Locations:
- Property Type: All multi-user, communal, and public properties
- Legal Requirement: Mandatory inspection by a Certified Equipment Specialist once every 6 months alongside an annual Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) safety review every 12 months.
- Scope: All public or shared environments, condominiums, MCSTs, commercial buildings, workplaces, fleet depots, and petrol stations.
