FAQ

Do EV chargers need approval before installation?

Yes. EV charger models must be type-approved and comply with Singapore’s national charging standard TR25 before they can be supplied, installed, or used.

Who is allowed to install an EV charger?

Installation must be carried out by a Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) licensed by the Energy Market Authority. The charger must also be certified by an equipment specialist before it can be registered.

Do EV chargers need to be registered?

Yes. All EV chargers must be registered with the Land Transport Authority before they can be used. After registration, a registration mark must be affixed to the charger.
