EV Charger Maintenance Singapore

We help track your EV charger's maintenance schedule and will advise when needed.

Introduction

Installing your EV charger and charging station is just the first step. To ensure the long term safety, reliability and performance of your electric vehicle charger, regular maintenance is mandated in Singapore by LTA under the Electric Vehicle Charging Act (EVCA). At Hai Khim Engineering Pte Ltd, our commitment to your EV journey doesn’t end once installation is complete. Fully backed by a responsive, professional in-house customer service team, we operate with a strict zero-ghosting policy. You will never have to worry about an installer going quiet after the handover is done. We stay fully responsive and make sure your charger meets every maintenance regulation required on schedule and in line with LTA regulations.

Our EV Charger Maintenance Process:

Inspections must be carried out at set intervals depending on your charger’s access type, and a valid test report must be kept on record. Read below to find out how we manage the entire process for you.

  1. Notification & Quotation:
  • You will receive a notification from us when your EV charger maintenance is due. It will be in the form of a physical letter from LTA via the OneMotoring Website (usually about 1 month prior)
  • If your details are already in our system, we will proactively reach out to you to let you know your maintenance is coming up
  • You can also contact us anytime to check on your due date or arrange your maintenance directly with us.
  • We will prepare a quotation for the inspection and send it to you to review and sign.

2. Scheduling & On-Site Service:

  • Once we receive your signed quotation, our team will contact you in 1 to 2 weeks time before your due date to arrange a timeslot of your convenience.
  • On the scheduled day, our team will come down to carry out the full inspection and maintenace on-site.

3. Documentation & Renewal:

  • After the service is completed, we will send you the required form along with your invoice for payment.
  • You will be reminded to keep your test report safely for at least 2 years until your next maintenance date is due.
  • On our end, we will update our system with the next due date and will reach out again when the next maintenance is due.

Why Maintenance Matters

01. Your Safety First and Foremost

Chargers carry high-voltage current every time they're used, and components naturally degrade with wear and weather. Regular routine checks help surface problems such as worn cables and loose connections while they're still minor before they become a serious danger.

02. Your Compliance, Settled

The EVCA regulates that there must be fixed inspection intervals for every EV charger in Singapore. Staying on top keeps your installation legally approved and audit ready so you're never caught off guard by a simple missed requirement.

03. Your Wallet In The Long Run

Never underestimate the potential danger of a small fault. One minor issue today can be an expensive failure tomorrow. Scheduled servicing catches the things you can't see, sparing you unplanned downtime and the cost of a major charger breakdown in the long run.

04. Your Charger Performance Over Time

As time passes, the charging speed and reliability of an EV charger fade when the equipment goes unchecked for a long period of time. Regular maintenance keeps your charger on top of its game so it performs on 100% output the way it did on day one.

How Does This Work?

Your Maintenance Requirements

Under Singapore law, every EV charger requires periodic safety inspections, but how often depends on where your charger is located. Electric vehicle chargers fall into two categories: Restricted Access or Non-Restricted Access. Here's how they compare.

Restricted AccessNon-Restricted Access
Property TypePrivate landed homes — detached, semi-detached, terrace and townhousesCommercial buildings, workplaces, fleet depots, charging network operators, and petrol stations
Frequency For Inspection ChecksOnce every 24 months (2 years)Once every 6 months
